The Dallas Stars jumped out to a 2-0 lead in Game 4 with their eyes set on a 3-1 series lead.
Five unanswered Edmonton goals later, the series is instead headed back to Dallas at two games apiece, with the Stars instead left trying to wrap their heads around what was perhaps their worst loss of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Oilers put the lid on this one with an empty net goal. The Western Conference finals will return to Dallas for Game 5 on Friday with the series tied, 2-2.
Third period, 6:00 remaining: The Stars fail to score on a crucial powerplay and things look dire in Game 4, down two with under six minutes to play.
Third period, 12:00 remaining: The Stars are unable to knock down the Oilers lead early in the third and the score remains 3-2. Tyler Seguin had a wrist shot turned away by Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner.
End of second period: Oilers 4, Stars 2
The Stars have allowed four unanswered goals since taking a 2-0 lead and will head into the third period trailing by two.
Defenseman Chris Tanev is questionable to return after blocking a shot off his foot and exiting the game.

Evan Bouchard picks up another Oettinger rebound and puts it in to tie Game 4 at 2-2.

The Oilers benefit from a mass of humanity in front of the Stars’ net and put home a rebound to get back into Game 4. Ryan McLeod was there to stuff in a Jake Oettinger rebound to put the Oilers on the board.
First period, 8:09 remaining: Jake Oettinger has made some stops and the Stars retain their 2-0 lead after a frantic pace over the game’s first two minutes.

The ideal start continues.
Dallas has jumped out to a 2-0 lead a little over five minutes into the game. Esa Lindell’s shot appeared to bounce off Edmonton’s Darnell Nurse and into the net. Logan Stankoven has been officially credited with the goal.

The Stars get off to an ideal start with a goal 58 seconds into Game 4.
Wyatt Johnston receives a pass and finds himself in space before letting loose a sizzling wrist shot to give Dallas a 1-0 lead early.
