CosMc's, McDonald's Co.'s new beverage-focused venture, has secured multiple locations in North Texas, according to a state filing.
The fast-food giant announced the beverage-focused concept in December and plans to open pilot stores in Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio in 2024.
Now, state filings indicate when DFW will get its flavor.
CosMc's Fort Worth location is located at 5341 McPherson Blvd., according to a Feb. 28 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Construction on the 1,275-square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru is expected to begin later this month and be completed in June at an estimated construction cost of $921,000, according to filings.
And a CosMc's could also be built at 1975 Newman Ave. in Allen, according to a March 11 TDLR filing. The square footage and construction details were the same as the Fort Worth application.
It is worth noting that the information in TDLR filings is often preliminary and subject to change, but they provide a glimpse into the early stages of construction planning. McDonald's (NYSE:MCD) did not immediately respond to a request for further details.
Meanwhile, sightings on social media pointed to another possible location at Preston Road and Campbell Road in Far North Dallas.
These will likely be CosMc's first locations outside of the chain's home state of Illinois.
State filings listed a construction schedule, but it wasn't clear when those stores would open. When CosMc's was announced in December, the company teased that DFW residents could expect them by the end of his 2024.
In the announcement, CosMc's is described as “inspired by nostalgia and enhanced by a menu of bold, refreshing drinks and delicious treats.”
The concept offers a menu of coffees, lemonades, teas, slushes and energy drinks, all with customization options. The food menu won't include burgers or fries, but Cosmac will offer its own creations like creamy avocado tomatillo sandwiches and pretzel bites, as well as McDonald's Egg McMuffins and M&M McFlurries.
The first CosMc's opened in Bolingbrook, Illinois, in December.
