Dallas Fire Rescue was responding to flash flooding across the city.
DALLAS — Heavy rain continued to fall across North Texas Thursday afternoon, causing numerous reports of flash flooding and areas of high water levels across the region.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to numerous high water incidents, with flash flooding and high water reported in Collin County as well.
Flood warnings were in effect for Collin, Dallas, Tarrant, Denton and Wise counties until at least 4:30 p.m.
Only one thunderstorm is expected to be severe in the area, moving east through Kaufman County and east of Dallas, but the rest of the storms are dumping heavy rain across North Texas.
Thursday’s rain comes after thunderstorms and rain continued in the area over the past week.
Heavy rain was felt across the region, with the North Dallas area dealing with multiple reports of high water levels.
As of 1:30 p.m., high water has closed several highways and ramps, including Interstate 35E at Market Center and U.S. Highway 175 at Loop 12. Our team at WFAA has confirmed high water along White Rock Creek near Interstate 635.
High water levels were observed at Town Lake Park in McKinney around 3:30 p.m., and authorities closed off the area.
