DALLAS – One person was killed and at least eight others were injured in a shooting after a party in Dallas on Saturday night, police said.
A single shooting was first reported in the 4600 block of Collins Avenue around 11:10 p.m.
Dallas police officials told WFAA that the shooting was first reported shortly after a block party at Juanita J. Craft Park. According to sources, there were no problems with the party itself.
After the party ended, the party moved to a nearby street when the shooting occurred, police said.
The gunfire stopped when police arrived. Police were nearby to monitor the crowd.
Around 1:35 a.m., another round of gunfire hit nine people in the crowd, police said.
Investigators believe one person started shooting, then others started shooting as well.
According to police, seven women and two men were taken to the hospital.
A woman, identified as Corisha Bradford, 21, was pronounced dead, police said.
The remaining eight victims are expected to recover.
There is no suspect information at this time.
