The direct sales company, which sells $1,500 cooking appliances, said it plans to move its headquarters from Thousand Oaks, Calif., to Dallas by the end of this year.
Thermomix, which makes and sells the company's flagship Wi-Fi connectivity appliance, the TM6, announced the move this week in Austin during a meeting with 250 of its top sales consultants. The announcement did not disclose the location of the company's headquarters or the number of jobs that would be created by the move.

The company said Thermomix sales in the U.S. last year exceeded $30 million, an increase of nearly 29% from the previous year. Its parent company, Germany-based Vorwerk, reported global sales of $4.1 billion last year, ranking it fifth among direct sales companies in the world.
Thermomix sales consultants will host in-home cooking experiences to demonstrate the appliance's 28 features and access more than 80,000 guided recipes on the company's Cookidoo digital portal. The company says the product is used in more than 11 million kitchens around the world.
Another Thermomix model, the TM31, was recalled in Australia 10 years ago and the company was fined $4.6 million after 14 reports of users suffering burns from hot liquid due to a defective seal. Ta.
