Emmitt Smith wasn't happy with the Cowboys' loss to the Packers in the playoffs.
The Dallas Cowboys were one of the best teams in the NFL this season, finishing with a 12-5 record and winning the NFC East. However, in the NFL playoffs, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, quarterback Dak Prescott, and the rest of the team lost 48-32 to the Green Bay Packers. It happened almost a month ago at this point, but Cowboys legend and three-time Super Bowl champion Emmitt Smith is still not happy about it.
“The success of the Dallas Cowboys gives us the illusion that we're going to be very good, but in reality we're not as good as we think we are. Because a moment of complete collapse like this in the playoffs… Because sometimes it's not acceptable,” Smith said. told the hosts Good Morning Football on NFL Network. “It's embarrassing for the organization and for all the fans in Cowboys Nation. I mean, to me, this just wasn't a good look, it wasn't a great game. We didn't perform as well as we could have. And the stars are looking a little dirty right now because these boys were doing whatever they wanted to us, which is embarrassing.”
Emmitt Smith cited the Cowboys' brutal 1-15 season in 1989, going so far as to say that in his opinion, the Cowboys' playoff collapse was “worse than 1-15.” . The only positive from this losing season was that Jerry Jones was able to draft the Florida Gators the following offseason and went on to win three Super Bowls in the next six seasons.
