American players remain on the American team.
We may be boasting one of those titles, but former Michigan football cornerback and All-American Jordan Lewis remains a fan favorite not only in Dallas but also in Ann Arbor. There is no doubt about that. The Wolverines standout continued to outperform many of his compatriots in the pro ranks in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he did it on a team that drafted him in the third round that year. Even as other defensive backs left the Dallas Cowboys, Lewis remained a mainstay.
And he's likely to stay for at least another year.
According to multiple reports, the Cowboys have re-signed Lewis to a one-year, $2.8 million fully guaranteed contract.

Lewis reacted to the news of starting his eighth year with the franchise the way only he can.

Lewis was an integral part of the Cowboys' 2023 season, starting eight games and recording 52 tackles and one interception. He has managed to throw at least one interception in every year he has played in the NFL, with the exception of the 2020 season, and his most productive year will come in 2021, when he has three picks.
