Fort Worth, Texas – Legendary motorsports promoter and former Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage has died at the age of 65.
Speedway Motorsports announced his passing on Thursday, calling him a pioneer and icon in the motorsports community.

Gossage's career spanned three decades. He helped build his Texas Motor speedway in Fort Worth in 1996 and was named its first general manager.
Under Gossage's leadership, TMS enjoyed success hosting NASCAR, IndyCar, World of Outlaws races and high-profile concerts. In 2015, he helped build his 22,704 square foot “Big Hoss,” the world's largest LED high-definition television.
Gossage retired in 2021 to spend more time with his family.
