Meal provider FreshRealm, Inc.’s new facility will receive additional incentives from the state.
The company plans to create 112 jobs when it begins operations in Lancaster, in addition to making a capital investment of $10.5 million.
Fresh Realm, which delivers and manufactures meals for Amazon Fresh, Blue Apron, Kroger, Walmart and other retailers across the U.S., announced last month that it was relocating its headquarters from San Clemente, California, to Lancaster.
Official plans for the facility, to be located at 3301 N. Dallas Ave. near Interstate 20 between Interstate 35E and Interstate 45, were also released at that time.
FreshRealm received a $672,000 grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund to build the Lancaster facility, as well as a $15,000 Veterans Job Creation Bonus.
In May 2023, the Lancaster Economic Development Authority signed a performance agreement with Fresh Realm, requiring the company to invest $5 million in commercial property and create 100 jobs within three years of completion, which is expected to be completed in July 2025. Average annual salaries are expected to be $65,000 per year.
In its first phase, Fresh Realm plans to build an 88,000-square-foot facility, the company previously announced. Dallas Morning News. It will eventually occupy as much as 161,000 square feet.
The company first revealed its move to Lancaster last year when it announced it had acquired facilities in Linden, New Jersey, and Richmond, California, from meal-kit company Blue Apron.
Earlier this year, the company acquired the US operations and supply chain infrastructure of subscription-based meal kit provider Marley Spoon, in a deal that also included the transfer of its Dallas production and fulfillment facility.
