The writing is much better than the movie! As time passes, the trio of central characters gels better, Percy's mother's motivations become more clearly defined, and the adventure feels less rushed.
Plus, our favorite God, a “feminist” Medusa episode, some rushed stuff, and whether or not to watch S02.

The podcast has covered countless animated sci-fi and fantasy titles, including the latest. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Back in 2020, we also covered the first movie in Rick Riordan's Greek-themed series, which…wasn't very good.
So Brenna and I were a little nervous about revisiting this title, especially since it was eight episodes long. Thankfully, giving these teenage actors a chance to bond works well, and their individual adventures all have some breathing room.It's definitely a solid adaptation worth checking out (read That shelf) -JL
