High Sium Tech united states of america-Haitium Battery Technology Co., a subsidiary of China-based Xiamen Haitium Energy Storage Technology Co., has announced plans to build a new battery module and systems assembly facility in Mesquite.
The roughly 500,000-square-foot facility will be located at 20 East Trinity Pointe, 12955 FM 2932 off I-20 in Mesquite. The 284-acre industrial park, being developed by Dallas-based Stream Realty Partners, will total 3.4 million square feet when the second phase of three buildings is completed. Stream broke ground on the park in 2022.
Founded in 2019, Hithium specializes in battery energy storage systems (BESS). The company’s stationary energy storage products are designed for utility-scale as well as commercial and industrial applications. The company is known for innovations such as “breakthrough” safety improvements for lithium-ion batteries and extending the lifecycle of battery energy systems. To date, Hithium says it has shipped over 20GWh of BESS products “including cells, systems and more.”
Hissium’s first North American factory
The Mesquite plant will be Hissium’s first manufacturing facility in North America.141 Manufacturing jobsMesquite The company says the plant is scheduled to start operating in five years and will generate 10GWh of electricity per year.
Hysium Chairman Jeff Wu said the facility will “accelerate the development and production of energy storage system products for the U.S. market while promoting economic growth and development in the Mesquite region.”
