Christmas cheer is in the air with tree lightings, parades, festivals, drone shows, and more in North Texas cities and towns. Cowboys Christmas Extravaganza in Frisco
free The Dallas Cowboys celebrate Christmas with a 20-minute holiday show on The Star. Various Cowboys legends and their families will turn on the lights each time, including DeMarcus Ware (December 9) and Jerry Jones and Gene Jones (December 15). There will also be fireworks, performances and appearances by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Rhythm and Blue Dancers, Cowboys Rookie Squad, mascot Rowdy and Santa Claus.

Merry and Bright Christmas Drone Show at Grapevine
free At Peace Plaza in front of Grapevine Central Station, a drone team will perform an eight- to nine-minute show over Main Street to create Christmas magic.

Santa's Village at Huffines Park
free Stroll through the park's miniature village and stop by Santa-themed residences such as Mrs. Claus' Bakery and Santa's Workshop. There will be nightly entertainment, interactive activities and a photo op with St. Nick in Santa's house. The village will be open Friday through Sunday.

Kiesto Park Holiday Festival and Tree Lighting
free Enjoy fun and fun at this festival with inflatables, carnival rides, live entertainment, photos with Santa Claus, and more! Stop by the hot chocolate station for a cup of hot cocoa and grab a snack from the food truck. A Christmas tree lighting ceremony by Dallas city officials will be held at 5:30 p.m.

Arlington Holiday Light Parade and Tree Lighting
free The holiday festivities begin at 2 p.m. and include activities, live entertainment, a parade, and a tree lighting. The event includes reindeer crafts for kids starting at 2 p.m., live entertainment at Levitt's Pavilion starting at 4 p.m., selfies with Santa, and his light-up parade at 6 p.m. . A parade of Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Grinch will be followed by the tree lighting.

McKinney Parade of Lights
free The McKinney Rotary Club will host its 24th annual parade in historic downtown McKinney. Illuminated floats, vehicles, marching groups and costumed characters will be part of the fun. Please check the website for the parade route map.

ST. Procession of Cecilia Guadalupe
free The religious procession through the Bishop Arts District ends at St. Cecilia Catholic Church (1809 W. Davis St., Dallas). Members of the community can enjoy food and entertainment at the church.

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe
free The two-day celebration at the newly designated National Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in downtown Dallas honors Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Basilica's recent elevation to national shrine status. On Dec. 11, Mattachine dancers and music will kick off the celebration at 7 p.m. At 8 p.m., the tower bells will play Marian music, followed by the Serenade of Our Lady of Guadalupe until 10 p.m., followed by a Spanish-language Mass conducted by Bishop Edward J. . burn. Hot chocolate and pan dulce will be sold in the plaza. Activities will continue on Dec. 12 with a bilingual Mass led by Bishop Burns at 5 p.m., followed by a blessing of flowers ceremony at 8:30 p.m.

Virgen de Guadalupe celebration
free The event, held at La Grand Plaza de Fort Worth's Tricolor Auto Stage, will include ballet folklorico, music and Machin dance rituals. Simple religious ceremonies are also performed.

Candlelight in Dallas' Old Town Park
During the 51st annual holiday festival, historic buildings in Old Town Park will be decorated and candles will light up the sidewalks at dusk. Visitors can enjoy caroling walks, live music, markets, children's crafts, food and beverage options, and more. Santa will come to the venue and take photos.
Dec. 16 and 17 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Old City Park, 1515 S. Harwood St., Dallas. Advance admission is $15 for ages 13 and older, $10 for ages 4-12, and free for children under 4. There will be an additional $5 charge on-site. Tickets are valid for one night only. oldcityparkdallas.org.
dallas posada
free The Latin American Cultural Center celebrates Posada, a Christmas tradition in Mexico and other Latin American countries that commemorates Joseph and Mary's search for safe haven in Bethlehem before the birth of Jesus. Everyone can take part in the traditional posada procession around the building, led by the band “La Rondala Romantica de Dallas”. After the procession, guests will be served pan dulce and hot chocolate. The square hosts performances such as folklorico and matatine dancers and mariachi music.
