We didn’t film the interior of the iconic home…
Despite the video from the real estate agent

The iconic home from the movie “Home Alone” is up for sale, but it’s stirring up a bit of controversy because TMZ has learned that, contrary to the real estate agent’s claims, the movie was not filmed inside the home.
Julio Macat The 1990 Christmas classic’s cinematographer told TMZ … exterior scenes in the movie were shot at the home, which is now for sale, but no scenes inside the house were actually filmed there.

Instead, the movie was reportedly shot on a huge set at Chicago’s abandoned New Trier Township High School.
While this may seem like a small difference, the real estate agent selling the house is clearly using the film as a major selling point, posting videos to social media suggesting that scenes like the iconic staircase sledding scene were actually filmed in the house. If you watch the clips, it seems like a pretty bold claim to make.
That said, the exterior is identical to the movie and in many ways looks like the “Home Alone” house – though maybe not as much as many people would think. There seems to be some confusion online, with some pointing out that the movie wasn’t actually filmed inside, while others are asking if any of the movie’s props are still in the house.
This 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom home is located in Winnetka, Illinois. It’s on the market for $5.25 million. …also features an indoor sports court and gorgeous patio area.
Katherine Moore and Dawn McKenna Coldwell Banker Realty owns the property, and we’ve reached out to them for an explanation for the video.
