On December 31, 2021, Fr. Mike Schmitz has completed the massive undertaking of completely reading and unraveling the Bible for Ascension. one year bible (BIY) Podcast. Two years later, it remains No. 18 in Apple's podcast rankings across all categories, and No. 1 in Religion and Spirituality. Well, for the first time, BIY is competing for the prestigious iHeart Podcast Award, and all fans can help win it.
Nominees for the 2024 iHeart Podcast Awards were announced on February 5th, with hundreds of shows considered in 29 categories. “Bible in a Year (With Father Mike Schmitz)” has been considered in the Religion and Spirituality category, “Elevation with Steve Furtick,” “On Being with Krista Tippett,” “The Bible Recap,” “Sarah Jakes Women evolve with Roberts.”

While most awards shows pass the gavel to critics and peers to hand out awards, iHeart Media's awards show is unique in that it involves audience participation. Fans of all podcasts are encouraged to vote in each category to determine which show wins the award.will be held on March 11th at the Fairmont Hotel in Austin, Texas.
To vote, simply create a free account on iHeart Media or connect to iHeart Media via Facebook or Google. From there, users are given the opportunity to vote for their favorite podcast. Voting has already begun and fans can vote every day until February 18th.
Unfortunately, voting is confidential, so we don't yet know how well BIY is doing, but it's had a stellar year since its 2021 release. Two years after its release, it continued to dominate the religion and spirituality category., remains at the top of the overall podcast list. In 2023, the podcast hit his 151 million downloads, bringing his total downloads to his 660 million.
