When Capital One held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Frisco's Stonebriar Center in August, they also shattered traditional notions of banking. North Texas' first bank cafe.
Next to a major retailer in a shopping mall, new capital one cafe is part coffeehouse, part workspace, and we are committed to serving our community.
Once inside, there is no teller or bank teller.
“Whether you bank with us or not, this is your cafe. Come and relax,” Banks said. Our nationwide cafes emphasize the “individual” in personal finance, fusing financial services with the needs of local communities.
The bank-coffee shop is intended to be a place to “unwind, relax, and refuel.” However, the company says you can also use Café Ambassadors and ATMs to cover your financial needs.
The space is designed for “everyday wellness” and offers amenities such as free Wi-Fi and semi-private workspaces, as well as food and beverages. Food options include locally baked goods, savory and sweet snacks, and other cafe-style foods.
Money speaks, but it also listens.
Capital One hopes the cafe will be more than just a convenient stop for coffee and quick deals, it will become a cornerstone for people to achieve their “life and money goals.”
To that end, the space incorporates educational tools like the Money & Life program, which the bank says is designed to help people “achieve their life and money goals. It will help “create individualized action plans.”
Guests will also be introduced to custom art from local artists, along with financial resources to create complimentary personalized programs.
Capital One said the cafe will serve as a community hub and include space for local nonprofits and others to host events. “We partner with local nonprofits and support local businesses,” said Capital One's national ambassador.
The cafe has a large corner where non-profit organizations can reserve for free. His two other corners are also available for free on a first-come, first-served basis. All spaces have tables and chairs and are nearly soundproof when the doors are closed, a spokesperson said.
