With iOS 17.4, currently in beta, Apple is adding audio transcripts to the Podcasts app on iPhone. This means you can listen to your favorite podcasts of him as you read them.
Apple is adding support for auto-generated transcripts to the Podcasts app, giving users another way to enjoy podcast content beyond just listening to what's being said.
If you're familiar with Apple Music lyrics, you'll know that they're very similar. To play a podcast, simply tap the speech bubble icon in the bottom left corner of the full-screen media playback screen.
Tap the auto-generated transcript that appears to fill your screen. As the episode plays, the transcript automatically scrolls to highlight the currently spoken text. You can also manually scroll through the transcript or tap a sentence to jump to that point in the podcast.
Additionally, the search button at the bottom of the screen allows you to search for specific words or phrases within your transcript, jump to that position within your transcript, and tap to skip to an audio track.
Transcripts can also be accessed from the Next section of the Home tab.Just long press on a podcast episode and it will appear in the drop-down menu.[トランスクリプトの表示]Options will be displayed. If you're on the episode details page, tap the ellipsis (three dots) button in the top right to see the same options.
At the time of writing, not all podcast episodes currently have transcripts, but Apple says transcripts for back catalog episodes will be added over time. Transcripts are available in English, French, German, and Spanish, and podcast hosts also have the option to upload their own transcripts rather than using an auto-generated version.
The transcript feature comes as part of Apple's iOS 17.4 update and is currently available to developers. Apple plans to make it publicly available in March.
