(Des Moines, Iowa) — Iowans affected by the May 21 storm may be able to get help from the Iowa Association of Realtors, which has received a $250,000 grant from the National Association of Realtors to help people struggling to make mortgage, rent or hotel payments.
IAR received grant funding totaling $400,000 to provide relief to Iowans affected by severe weather this spring.
The REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF), IAR, will provide housing relief of up to $1,500 to displaced residents primarily residing in the following counties: Adair, Adams, Black Hawk, Buena Vista, Butler, Cass, Cedar, Clay, Clinton, Dubuque, Fayette, Franklin, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Humboldt, Iowa, Jackson, Jasper, Kossuth, Marshall, Mills, Montgomery, Muscatine, O’Brien, Page, Palo Alto, Polk, Pottawattamie, Story, Tama and Warren.

Iowa experienced severe weather in April and May that destroyed or damaged thousands of homes and buildings. The Iowa Association of Realtors previously received a $150,000 grant to provide relief payments of up to $1,500 to Iowans in Clark, Crawford, Harrison, Mills, Polk, Pottawatomie, Ringgold, Shelby and Union counties affected by the severe storm on April 26.
