The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex has been the hallmark of endless growth for decades, and market experts say that growth has propelled the company into the upper echelons of the national hotel market.
Colin Sherman, CoStar's Texas and Tennessee hospitality market analysis director, said on the Hotel News Now podcast that the entire Dallas-Fort Worth market and submarkets within it are “booming.”
“It's the beast we all think it is,” he said. “We’re seeing a lot of development.”
Several prominent hotel companies call the Metroplex home, including leading hotel management companies Abridge Hospitality, Ashford Group, and Omni Hotels & Resorts.
CoStar News reporter Candace Carlisle said part of Dallas' character in general is that it serves as the “business capital” of Texas. What is changing, however, is its growing prominence as a luxury leisure travel market.
Growth “isn't just about these limited-service hotels,” she says. “We just got our first JW Marriott, we have a Four Seasons that is in the design stages and will be completed soon, and we hear there is going to be a second Ritz-Carlton in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. And it just seems like the level of amenities and hospitality that will be introduced to the market is unprecedented in Dallas-Fort Worth. ”
