LARAMIE — The Mountain West Conference is deeper than perhaps ever before.
For example, Colorado State University was ranked in the top 25 just last week. They will be the No. 7 seed in the conference tournament and will play in a play-in game in Las Vegas. San Diego State, which danced all the way to the national championship game a season ago, won't get a bye either.
Its depth.
Wyoming will be the No. 8 seed and will play Fresno State at noon Wednesday inside the Thomas and Mack Center.

Imagine if I told you in October that Wyoming would finish the season with at least 14 wins, including seven in league play (as of this writing, the Pokes would have won their final regular-season game). (They are playing against Fresno State University.)

The rules are simple. What influences did the players have while at Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status, or other honors earned outside of UW are irrelevant when it comes to this list.
