His travels have taken him around the world as a roadie for Jared Leto's band, eating at late-night frito joints in Europe. Upon returning to Arizona, his father told him to bet on himself. He bet on the power of potatoes.

The Original Elderberry Company – For the Love of Family: Divya Yoder is a devoted mother who works full time and tries to keep her husband and two young sons healthy. According to her, when one person in her household got sick, the disease spread to her entire family. To stop her cold, she discovered the healing powers of elderberry. Her continued research revealed that many of the elderberry products on her shelf contained ingredients she didn't want her family to eat, so she created her own recipe. And so her original Elderberry Company was born.
Rydables – Make business fun: If you want to explore, learn, and laugh about what Arizona has to offer, try Rydables! These are large, motorized stuffed animals that roam Scottsdale, Mesa, and Wildlife World Zoo on guided tours. Regarding this episode, the Rydables creator said he thought they might do something fun to entertain people. But he soon learned that these wheeled stuffed animals offered so much more.
Nixer: Small changes = big results: Vacations are full of luxuries. Food and drink flow throughout the celebration. That's why The Nixer wants to provide an inclusive experience, whether you're drinking alcohol or not. Retail Therapy: For the Love of Small Business: Two Arizona entrepreneurs moved from one location to four locations in a year and a half. The business is called Retail Therapy AZ. It's a maker's market that supports small business owners, with locations in downtown Glendale, Westgate, Scottsdale Fashion Square, and soon to open at the Phoenix Convention Center. But at first, the two owners, Jacqueline Thomas and Erica Jerrid, were working together at the restaurant, where Erica said, “I'm quitting, Jackie's quitting too!” That's when a new booming business was born.

Arizona native Jen Rogers got her first TV job in Washington's wine country, interviewing farmers who grow grapes, and fell in love with the work behind wine. She dreamed of creating a space that would give people a moment of peace in their busy lives, and a space where neighbors could get along.

She started her own hiking and mountain biking tour group, teaching tourists and locals best practices when venturing into Mother Nature on two wheels or two legs. Desert Rock Winery and Distillery – For those who love wine, veterans, and dogs.: Paul Hoffman of Desert Rock Winery and Distillery has worked in the wine world for many years. Established in 2006, he has been making wine for 20 years and has been making spirits for 13 years. He gives back to veterans and animals in many ways, working with his best friends in the military. The Hoffman facility is located near Kierland Commons and is the only facility in the Valley where guests can see and feel every element of winemaking and distilling. Twenty6 Design: Words have power: Words are powerful, and handwriting artist Rachel Hudgens is committed to using words to spread kindness, love, happiness, and faith. Hudgens took up hand lettering as a hobby and began making shirts expressing his love for his new hometown of Phoenix, and his business exploded. Hear her journey from being locked in a dumpster (which really happened!!) to finding her purpose with her gratitude.
Pedal House Breweries: The Man on Mill Avenue: Julian Wright has been building bars along Mill Avenue since the 2000s. He says the key to success is blind confidence and a reckless approach. Barter and Shake: A story of cocktails and marketing: America's best cocktail bars are right here in the Valley. The Tales of the Cocktail Foundation named Phoenix's Century Grand the best cocktail bar in America. This award is like the Oscars of the beverage industry. But Barter and Shake's girlfriend, Kailee Asher, said the award announcement led to more digital leads from local media rather than articles in big-name magazines. She knows this because she studied analysis. She literally wrote about it in her self-published book, Mise En Place Marketing. She writes recipes to help small bars and restaurants maximize their marketing and how to fish where the fish are. She also hears the story of how Undertow and Century Grand came to be.
