On Thursday night, the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves will play Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals at Target Center.
The Timberwolves salvaged their season with a 105–100 victory in Game 4, taking the series to 3-1 (Dallas wins).
All-Star forward Karl-Anthony Towns started the series slow but finished with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist on 9-of-13 shooting from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range in 30 minutes of playing time.
After the game, Kyrie Irving spoke with the media and his comments about Towns came up in conversation (h/t NBA on ESPN).
Irving: “He gets criticized sometimes unfairly, but he’s not a particularly good shooter. He didn’t shoot in the first three games. He’s a great player. I respect him, my colleagues and my teammates respect him.”
Irving finished with 16 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal on 6-for-18 field goals and 1-for-6 three-pointers in 42 minutes of playing time in Game 4.
If the Timberwolves survive Game 5, the teams will return to Dallas on Saturday night for Game 6.
The team that wins this series will advance to the NBA Finals to face the Boston Celtics, led by Jaylen Brown.
The Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The first game of the finals will be played in Boston on June 6th.
