This is Bobby '90. This is a special four-part podcast series. The Athletic To commemorate Sir Bobby Robson's 90th birthday. In the first episode of the series, Sir Bobby talks about his childhood and his time growing up in the North East.
In preparation for his final book, Sir Bobby reflected on his remarkable life with George Corkin. Thanks to the generous generosity of Sir Bobby's family, we have memories of his life as a miner's son, watching the greatest Newcastle United team of all time, and the start of his own incredible football career. We also hear about Sir Bobby's repeated bouts with cancer and how he came to set up his 'last and greatest team', the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
