Galleria Dallas is well on its way with a newly redesigned and expanded Louis Vuitton store, visible from the new entrance to the mall from the Westin Hotel.
Louis Vuitton will open at North Dallas Mall on Friday, just one week after Buchendorf's, another of the Galleria's oldest stores, doubled in size.
Spanish Mango opened in September, and popular outdoor brand Cotopaxi opened its first Texas location in the Galleria. The Galleria will feature a new main entrance facing the Dallas North Tollway, where the Westin entrance will be renovated and a Northern Italian restaurant will soon open. A new 95-foot-tall Christmas tree will be installed at the mall's ice rink, and a spectacular light show will debut for the first time on Black Friday.
The new Louis Vuitton store will double its space to 6,337 square feet and incorporate two adjacent store spaces. The French luxury brand's newest store will sell men's and women's accessories, fragrances, jewellery, leather goods, apparel, shoes, watches and a selection of travel-inspired Objets Nomades furniture.
The store will be staffed by artisans who will work with customers to create custom artwork on hard-sided items and provide hot stamping services to personalize leather goods.
The outer façade is made of metal blades with polished edges to create the floral composition of the Maison's iconic monogram.
The $1.85 million renovation includes interior walls finished with custom paneling, wallpaper, lighting and furniture, according to state filings. Art is displayed throughout the store, including original works by Italian artist Isadora Capraro.
Louis Vuitton, which has operated at the Galleria since the 1980s, was the brand's first and only store in the market until 2009, when it opened a store at NorthPark Center. The company doubled the size of its North Park store to 10,000 square feet in 2020 and opened a store at Legacy West in Plano in 2021. The market's fourth store opened in 2017 at the Shops at Clearfork in Fort Worth.
Louis Vuitton, which has 10 stores in Texas, said in a statement that “this opening reinforces our commitment to this region as a key market.”
The 169-year-old Paris-based brand gained attention in 2019 when it opened a Louis Vuitton handbag workshop in rural Johnson County, south of Fort Worth. The facility opened with his 150 employees and is expanding with plans for his 1,000 people in Texas to manufacture handbags and backpacks.
Parent company LVMH Moët Hennessy, the world's largest luxury goods company, reported slower sales growth in October, mainly due to the absence of Chinese customers.
The new Louis Vuitton and Buchendorf, both located around the center court ice rink views, “represent the beautiful transformation of Galleria Dallas,” said Angie Fried, the mall's general manager. “A growing collection of retailers and restaurants from around the world, coupled with exciting new décor and amenities, solidifies Galleria Dallas as one of the region's top shopping and lifestyle destinations. It has become.”
