Deadline film critic Valerie Complex exclaimed in her review that “Glass” is “a snapshot of America.” It is marked by guns, bloodshed, and lawlessness. But when you throw in a dazzling sprinkling of sexy, creepy queerness, you get a movie like this, full of thrills and mesmerizing energy. ”
We interviewed Glass on tonight's Crew Call. In addition to directing, Glass also co-wrote the screenplay with co-creator Weronika Tfilska. Glass said the tempo of the photos comes from her “short attention span and not wanting to bore people.”
“It's about excess and ambition on a certain level, and we just needed it to feel like there was a sense of propulsion and energy,” Glass said.
How Glass broke the story, intentionally set the film in the 1980s (she admitted she was “trying to make life difficult for the characters”), tracked down O'Brian, and brought the project to Film4. We spoke to Glass about how he made this happen.
