After losing in Game 1, the Dallas Mavericks came back in Game 2 and returned home with a 96-93 win on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference first-round series.
Luka Doncic had a blast at Crypto.com Arena, coming close to a double-double with 32 points with nine assists and six rebounds. “The second half is the way we should have played the whole game. We have to learn from it.”commented the team leader.
Maxi Kleber contributed six points and six rebounds off the bench, while Ivica Zubac on the losing side also recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Minnesota leads 2-0, Giannis still out.
The other series is currently tied at 1-1, with the Indiana Pacers winning 125-108 on the road in Milwaukee before taking the game back to Indianapolis. Pascal Siakam had 37 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, but Giannis Antetokounmpo remained sidelined with a strained left calf muscle.
In other games, the Minnesota Timberwolves won 105-93 and took a 2-0 lead over Phoenix, thanks to Rudy Gobert's 18 points and 9 rebounds. Jusuf Nurkic, who finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds, couldn't win against the French center.
Commenting on the team's defensive effort, he noticed that they were doing a great job of containing opponents. “We can see it. We can feel it. You can see it. It's stiff. No one likes going against the type of defense we're playing right now.”said Rudy Gobert.
