Luka Doncic’s funny comments about Kyrie Irving spark discussion after Mavs vs Timberwolves game

On Thursday night, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving led the Dallas Mavericks to a 124-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals.

They will now advance to the NBA Finals where they will face the Boston Celtics.

After the game, Doncic said media And his funny comment about Irving has gone viral (h/t Hoop Central).

Doncic: “I think we’re a young team, except for Kyrie. Kyrie’s getting older.”

Irving is just 32 years old and in the prime of his career.

He finished with 36 points, four rebounds and five assists on 14-of-27 field goal attempts and 4-of-10 three-pointers in 40 minutes of playing time.

Meanwhile, Doncic finished with 36 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals on 14-of-22 field goal attempts and 6-of-10 three-pointers in 37 minutes of play.

Irving and Doncic have proven to be great chemistry together, making them one of the best duos in the NBA.

Last season (after Irving was traded to Dallas), the Mavs struggled and missed the playoffs.

But they rebounded well, finishing the year with a 50-32 record and the No. 5 seed.

They defeated the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder in the first two rounds (and then the Timberwolves).

Game 1 against the Celtics will be played in Boston on June 6th.

The Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
