Doncic is coming off an outstanding regular season in which he played in 70 games and averaged 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 48.7% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range.
The Mavericks team was the fifth seed in the Western Conference and finished with a 50-32 record.
They defeated the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder in the first two rounds of the playoffs.
The Mavericks missed the NBA playoffs in 2023, but will be in the Western Conference Finals for the second time in the past three seasons.
The duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving has proven to be great chemistry, and the team also has talented role players in Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington Jr.
Game 3 of the series will be played in Dallas, Texas on Sunday.
The team that wins this series will advance to the NBA Finals to face either the Boston Celtics or the Indiana Pacers.
The Celtics lead the series 2-0 heading into Game 3 on Saturday night in Indiana.
Doncic is in his sixth season in the NBA, all with the Mavs.
He led the Mavs to the playoffs four times.
