On Wednesday night, the Dallas Mavericks will face the Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
Luka Doncic is likely on the injury report for this game, so the All-Star forward should be available.
From Alan Houghton on Monday: “The Wolves list Mike Conley (right soleus strain) as questionable for Game 1, while the Mavs list Luka Doncic (right knee sprain, left ankle soreness) as questionable for tomorrow night’s game. It is listed as possible.
Doncic is coming off another great regular season, averaging 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 9.8 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 48.7 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from 3-point range in 70 games.
The Mavs are the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a record of 50 wins and 32 losses.
They defeated the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder in the first two rounds of the NBA Playoffs.
Doncic is in his sixth NBA season and has led the Mavs to the conference finals in two of the past three years.
As for the Timberwolves, they are the No. 3 seed and defeated the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets in the first two rounds of the playoffs.
Last season, the Timberwolves lost in the first round and the Mavs missed the playoffs.
The team that wins this series will advance to the NBA Finals, where they will face either the Boston Celtics or Indiana Pacers.
The Celtics are currently 1-0 in this series with Game 2 taking place Thursday night in Boston.
