A landmark skyscraper in downtown Dallas is becoming more popular for office leasing with the construction of a private social and sports club.
This private club, called Cypress, is located on the plaza of Fountain Place Tower on Ross Avenue.
Built in 1986, the green glass rocket-shaped tower is one of the most recognizable landmarks on the skyline. Since 2014, his 60-story Dallas skyscraper has been owned by Atlanta-based Goddard Investment Group.
The more than 13,000-square-foot invitation-only club being built within the tower will include dining, bar and lounge areas. The Cypress Club will also feature a golf simulator, pickleball court and hunting simulator.
“Cypress at Fountain Place is more than just a club, it's truly a landmark club,” CBRE Group Senior Managing Director Chris Hipps said in a statement. “This is a first in its class, a first on the market, and a first in the country.
“This sets Fountain Place apart and represents a new era of luxury in the workplace,” he said. “Similarly, businesses locating offices in Fountain Place will have significant advantages in their efforts to retain their existing talent as well as recruit new employees.”
The Cypress Club represents a growing trend for office building owners to offer elaborate amenities to lure employees back to the office and increase building leases.
The club's interior was designed by Kellie K. Sirna of Studio 11 Design, who has a proven track record of designing interiors for hotels and restaurants in Texas. “We wanted to tell a story that tells the rich and diverse tapestry of Texas' favorite pastimes: golf, hunting, and dining,” Serna said.
Cypress is scheduled to open next summer.
This private club is the latest upgrade to the iconic office tower designed by the firm of renowned architect IM Pei.
Owners recently completed a $70 million overhaul of Fountain Place's lobby, public areas, and surrounding plaza with its signature fountain and cypress trees.
