Kneeland is a flat-out athlete.
With the Cowboys acquiring a position that nearly wiped out the top names they were looking at, they opted to tap into a lesser-known need on the roster by acquiring a defensive end – Nyland is a player who could counter the loss. Dorrance Armstrong and Dante Fowler were added to the mix as free agents to the Washington Commanders. The former is even more so considering his impact on special teams as well.

The 6-foot-3, 267-pound pass rusher has an NFL-ready frame and a high-performance motor to match. He can bull rush, speed rush, and effectively build an edge in run defense, all attributes the Cowboys can definitely benefit from.
He's not the most athletic in the class and will look to learn from Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence to hone his handiwork, but he has a notable work ethic and determination to win on every snap. He supplements his coachable opportunities and plays in the opponent's backfield, which can often be disruptive.
