Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd says Luka Doncic (right elbow sprain) will be available for Saturday's game against the Detroit Pistons. Center Derek Lively II was removed from the list due to personal reasons.
On Thursday against the Miami Heat, Doncic recorded a triple-double with 35 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. He became the first player in NBA history to record a triple-double with 35 points in four consecutive games. Doncic joins Russell Westbrook as the only players to record a 30-point triple-double in five consecutive years.
Lively started 42 games as a center for the Mavericks this season, averaging 8.6 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 74.3 percent from the field. Daniel Gafford, acquired by Dallas at last month's NBA trade deadline, started ahead of Lively on Thursday as part of head coach Jason Kidd's lineup restructuring.
Lively played 23 minutes against Miami and was part of the closing lineup, but was ejected after colliding with Heat center Bam Adebayo in the knee.
When asked if Lively could join the Mavericks for Monday's game against the Chicago Bulls, Kidd said, “We'll see what happens tomorrow.”
