One of the best NFL players to come out of Penn State in recent years could be rubbing the team the wrong way. It's generally unwise to take what you hear on sports talk radio with a grain of salt, but it's not wise to ignore the conversation revolving around Parsons, who is the best player on the Cowboys roster. you can't.
The suggestion that the Cowboys' front office and some within the organization wouldn't blink an eye at the idea of Parsons being taken off the roster comes from comments from Shan Sharif of Dallas 105.3 The Fan. Sharif said he has heard from multiple sources that Parsons is not necessarily in a good place with the organization at this point in the offseason.
“I've had so many people reach out to me this offseason. I'm talking (told me) about at least four different people that Micah was skinny with there,” Sharif said Friday. Ta. “I don't know how much of it is true and how much it actually damages (his reputation). I don't know if this is typical superstar behavior. I don't know how much damage it does. But all I know is this – if Micah Parsons had gotten out of there, there would have been quite a few people smiling or breathing a sigh of relief inside the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. I hear from too many people that it will.”
The timing of these comments is unique because the Cowboys just picked up the fifth-year option in Parsons' contract and did so in a unique way by classifying him as a defensive end rather than a linebacker. If there was uncertainty about his actions, would the team have jumped on his contract option right away? Given his talent and potential on the field, and given the franchise's lack of notable moves this offseason, securing top talent through 2025 was probably the top priority. right.
Parsons was the No. 12 overall pick of the Cowboys in the 2021 NFL Draft and lived up to expectations on the field. Parsons was the unanimous winner of the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award and was the runner-up for the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award.
