“I was born in Houston, Texas and graduated from Spring High School. I currently live in Mount Juliet with my handsome husband Rich and our adorable children Abby, 6 years old. Levi, 9 years old. , our cat Lucy who doesn't care about anything.

What was your first job?
“We sell cookies at the Original Cookie Company and at the mall.”
What did you do before becoming a real estate agent?
“I signed an artist development contract, wrote songs on Music Row, and sang in a dancehall band in Texas.”
Why did you choose a career in real estate?
“I thought I would make real estate a part-time job and become a huge country music star. But 17 years later, I'm still selling homes, loving the work I do every day, the people I meet, and helping them realize their life goals.” I walk alongside them to help them achieve their dreams. How long have you been a real estate agent?
“This is my 17th year selling homes in Cry Like, Mount Juliet/Wilson County.”
When did you join Cry Like?
“I chose Cry Like in 2007 because I was confident that the broker would be available whenever I needed advice. “The Circle of Excellence recognizes cry-like real estate agents who meet certain criteria for designation, community involvement, selling more homes, and more importantly helping more families. It’s an honor inside.”
How have you managed the rollercoaster real estate market?
“Markets change all the time. It's just economics. I stick to my system to provide value-added services and work with people who trust me. It seems to be useful for doing business.”
Are you currently in a buyer’s home market or a seller’s home market?
“It's leaning towards a buyer's market right now, but we're still seeing multiple offers at certain price points. If interest rates come down this year, we might be back in the race.”
What is your best advice regarding the housing market?
“Please hire a real estate agent.”
You are an adoption advocate. What is this?
“Both of my children were adopted at birth. I appreciate people who understand the nuances of families with adoption dynamics, who will walk with me without judging me.” I desperately needed people, my own tribe. My friend Melinda Bartling and I launched a community called Hearts Together MJ for adoption, kinship, and foster moms in Wilson County in September 2022. We started a group. Our mom group is all about embracing each other, supporting trauma and behavioral education, and providing resources.”
Before you were in real estate, you were a recording artist. Please tell me about it.
“I have a self-titled album produced by my husband Rich Herring. The style is early 2000 contemporary country. I also co-wrote a few songs. Find it on I-tunes.”
Do you still sing for fun?
“I'm an alto on my church's praise team. I love it. Connecting with God through music is such an amazing gift. I sing all day…just ask anyone in the office.”
What are your five year goals?
“To be a less stressful mother and wife. To be a leader/mentor in the real estate industry. Grow Hearts Together MJ Group will help more moms and families with trauma issues.”

“I like hiking…at least once a year.”
What is your best childhood memory?
“When I was 7 years old, my family lived on a 40-acre farm in Indiana. I played with frogs and turtles in the stream. I jumped from willow tree branches and rode my horse like a cowgirl. I rode outside. My mother didn't have to worry about me because I was always playing outside.”
What life lessons have stuck with you?
“Don't compare yourself to others. And be kind. You never know what someone is going through.”

“This is my real estate coach, Sherry Culbertson.”
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
“Laughing with your husband and children happens very often, even when life is difficult.”
What do you like most about Wilson County?
“It's a community of people who care for each other and come together especially during difficult times, like floods, tornadoes, COVID-19, and when grocery stores are closed at Blue Bell. When you need ice cream, it's really It may be difficult.”

“I read “Educated.'' My favorites are “The Nightingale'' and “Unbroken.'' Real stories of people overcoming things are fascinating to me. I love human resilience and how people survive, forgive, and inspire others. ”
