I've watched enough Celtics basketball to know that when Jaylen Brown is rolling, you shouldn't bet on him.

It would be unfair to call Brown a serial scorer, as he averages more than 22 points a night. That being said, his game has certainly fluctuated from high to low, and we're at the higher end of that spectrum right now.

The All-Star has scored at least 30 points in consecutive games, including an incredibly efficient performance of 31 points on 11-for-14 shooting against the 76ers. The game has slowed down for Jalen this year, and he is much more focused on leveraging his strengths to play bullish ball in both deep paint and midrange situations.

As is almost always the case with Brown, the first quarter score will set the tone for his night. The California product is among the best in the league in early-game scoring, averaging 7.1 points per game in the first quarter.

The Celtics do a good job of sharing the ball among their myriad stars, but Brown has been the highlight of late, with Brown posting a usage rate of 29% or higher in four of the past five games. This may be the night Jalen's winning streak ends, but I expect him to continue his good form against a Mavericks team that has had consistent success over the past few seasons.
