The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 96-93 in Game 2 of the first round of the playoff series, with Luka Doncic scoring 32 points and nine assists and Kyrie Irving adding 23 points, making it 1-1. The score was tied.
P.J. Washington scored 18 points and Derrick Jones Jr. added 10 points for the Mavericks on Tuesday, bouncing back from a double-digit Game 1 loss in which they trailed by as many as 29 points and scored just 30 points in the first half.
Doncic and Irving struggled in the decisive first half of Sunday's Game 1, where they combined for 19-of-44 (43.2%) and combined for 5-of-19 (26.3%). I made it a success.
Irving made 3 of 4 free throws in the final 12 seconds to seal the victory.
The Clippers were unable to take advantage of Kawhi Leonard's return, but James Harden and Paul George each scored 22 points.
Leonard, who had not played since March 31 due to inflammation in his right knee, scored 15 points in 35 minutes.
The series moves to Dallas for Game 3 on Saturday.

Myles Turner had 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three blocked shots for the sixth-seeded Pacers, who ended their postseason losing streak at 10 since 2018.
Damian Lillard scored 34 points and Brook Lopez added 22 points for the third-seeded Bucks. Each player made six three-point shots. Milwaukee was once again without star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was sidelined with a calf injury.

Jaden McDaniels scored 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting and Minnesota pulled away from Phoenix in Game 2 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series in Minneapolis.
Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert each scored 18 points for Minnesota, which took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
The Timberwolves won by double digits despite a below-average night from Anthony Edwards, who made 3 of 12 from the field and finished with 15 points.
Devin Booker led the Suns with 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting, although he was 1-of-6 on 3-pointers. Kevin Durant finished with 18 points and Bradley Beal had 14 points, but they combined to make 12 of 32 from the field.
