We've done quite a few mock drafts for the Bears from the end of the 2023 regular season to now. With only a week left until the show, I wanted to do something a little different, so I gathered my crew from Under His Center Podcast and we all did a mock draft. However, a little tweaking was required. Kenneth Davis, Josh Schock, and I will all be drafted at No. 1, No. 9, No. 75, and No. 122. No trades or repeats. So when someone named a player, everyone else had to remove that player from the board.
The random number generator spit out this draft order: Schrock, Davis, Shapiro. Here's how we played Ryan Pauls in this bizarre mock draft situation.

Schlock No. 1 Pick: Cave Williams – QB – USC
“Best player in the draft by a country mile. Arm talent, athleticism, ability to escape, obviously checks all the 'person' boxes for the Bears…I think he's the best quarterback in the draft.” I think it has the highest ceiling in the world. So, yeah, it's a no-brainer. ” – Schrock
Davis No. 1 Pick: Jaden Daniels – QB – LSU
“His ceiling could be as high as (Williams') and probably even faster…We've already seen what he can do with a really good receiver tandem, and when he joins the Bears… He already has a really good receiver tandem in Keenan Allen and DJ Moore.'' – Davis.
Shapiro NO. 1 Pick: Drake Maye – QB – NC State
“I'm actually looking forward to having Drake Maye as the quarterback for my hypothetical Bears team, and I'm actually drafting him ahead of Jaden Daniels…which is amazing. Does he have the same athleticism as Jaden Daniels or Caleb Williams? No, but his accuracy, his arm, and the way he analyzes defense. It's okay.'' – Shapiro
Schrock No. 9 Pick: Roma Odunze – WR – Washington
“This is easy for me. I can walk around the podium and get whoever I want. Give me Davante Adams 2.0. Balanced receiver, great route runner, great arm, competitive catch. Master, he's physical. I talked to some scouts who think he's better than Marvin Harrison Jr., he'll end up being a better pro. ” – Schlock.
Davis No. 9 Pick: Joe Alto – OT – Notre Dame
“Joe Alt, stay in the Midwest, be a Bear and protect our quarterback for 10 years. Now, Braxton Jones, you'll be our swing tackle, and if Darnell Wright gets hurt… If you do, you can probably play right…usually more bite to the receiver…so I'd go to left tackle.'' – Davis.
Shapiro No. 9 Pick: Olu Fashanu – OT – Penn State
“The canon in my head is because I’m inventing this canon in my head: If Roma Odunze and Joe Alto are gone, Marvin Harrison Jr., No Shot, Malik Nabors are gone. I think there might be an opportunity to draft Brock Bowers, no, we're not going to do that here at nine. There's an opportunity to take the first defenseman or the next Dallas Turner off the board. Maybe. I don't think that's the case either…We got a guy who is going to be the best pass protector in this draft. Fashanu didn't allow a sack at Penn State. It didn't happen.
Schlock No. 75 Pick: Austin Booker – Edge – Kansas
“He has to address the edge rusher position. He's 6'4 1/2″ tall with 33⅞” arms. He's got Maxx Crosby comp. A repertoire of explosive, long, great pass rush moves. I think he'll be a good complement to the other guy (Montez Sweat). To be honest, beyond Bralen Trice, who I think will go in the second round, he'll be a little thin at edge rusher, so take Booker. ” – Schrock
Davis No. 75 Pick: Bralen Trice – Edge – Washington
“The funny thing about my draft board is that Bralen Trice was still there. So I'm going to grab him. Playing for the national runner-up. Here we go, Bralen. House of Davis. As you can see, we have the quarterback of the future, we're guarding him with the left tackle of the future, and now you're not alone, Montez Sweat. Jayden Daniels gets the ball back right away. -Davis.
Shapiro NO. 75 Pick: Jonah Ellis – Edge – Utah State
“He had his season cut short with a shoulder injury, so maybe he's down because of the medical check. But before that, this guy was tearing it up. Only 10 games. Despite not playing, he finished tied for sixth in the nation with 13 sacks, compared to Laiatu Latu (1.25), Dallas Turner (0.78) and Jared Verse (0.85). He's got all kinds of moves, so he's not just a one-trick pony. I talked to him at the combine and I don't know what else he would say, so I'll take this as a grain of salt. Take it as a story. But he said his shoulder is fine.'' – Shapiro.
Schlock No. 122 Pick: Zach Ginter – Guard – Michigan
“I love Cooper Beebe. I don't think he'll work out. He's probably an OG1 and he's surging up the board, but I don't think he'll go in at No. 122. Kansas State, who came in with a shot at getting into the top 30. I also looked at college tight end Ben Sinnott, but I like Zach Ginter. I know he's coming off an injury, so he'll probably have to rehab before then. Should have been OG1. Big body, really, really good technically. We definitely need to strengthen the interior of the offensive line, especially considering Teven (Jenkins)'s history.”
Davis No. 122 Pick: Malik Washington – WR – Virginia
“I also had Mohamed Kamara on my list, but I already chose Bralen Trice. I'd really like to get Kamara and double down on the edge rusher so I can rotate in and out. We didn't get a receiver in this draft, so we're going to take Malik Washington as a slot receiver, and he's just a slot guy because of his size, along with DJ Moore and Keenan Allen. It took the pressure off whoever the fourth receiver was to come in.'' – Davis.
Shapiro NO. 122 Pick: Taj Washington – WR – USC
“If you want the best vertical, deep threat, Roma Odunze is your best bet. But if you don't get Odunze, Taj Washington is a very nice consolation prize. More numbers dialed up for you Yes, he had a catch rate of 86.7% for balls of 20 yards or more, which was No. 1 among wide receivers with at least 10 deep targets in college football last year. Same goes for his 39.7 yards rushing per route and, by the way, his QB rating was a perfect 158.3 when he was targeted by Caleb Williams on a deep route. Not only is he a devil, but he's also good at contested catches if you don't beat him or get help over the top…the Bears didn't have a real vertical threat like that in a lot of games For years.” – Shapiro
