DALLAS (NEXSTAR/NBCDFW) — The Central Time Zone's most spectacular fireworks and drone show has ushered in 2024 and the new year in Dallas, Texas. Lone Star NYE 2024 featured a 10-minute nonstop fireworks show that lit up the Dallas skyline. The show included his breathtaking panoramic fireworks display with over 4,000 special effects fired from 560 feet above the ground atop the iconic Reunion Tower.
The fireworks were accompanied by a light show from 300 drones. The drone, designed and flown by DFW-based Sky Elements, lights up the sky at heights of up to 700 feet, creating a never-before-seen array of visual elements and immersive experiences above the Dallas skyline. Ta.
The theme of this year's show was New Year's Eve through the decades.
Before and after the fireworks, Bowling for Soup and two other Texas musical acts took to the stage. Bowling for Soup, a pop-punk band from Wichita Falls, is known for their humor and infectious energy and has wowed audiences with hits like “Girl All the Bad Guys Want” and the chart-topping single “1985.” .
This year's Bowling for Soup stage was joined by Texas country artist Bry Bagwell and alternative country group the Vandeliers.
Lone Star NYE was hosted by KARK anchor DJ Williams and KXAS anchor Katie Blakey. It was broadcast throughout Texas, as well as on affiliate stations in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri.
