We've reached a new milestone on the NFL calendar. This day, as the 2024 NFL Draft begins, is a big day for NFL teams and fans alike. This year's draft will be held in Detroit, and the Cowboys will hold the 24th pick in the first round.
Let the fun begin!
This is an open thread for draft chat.
cowboys 2024 draft picks:
- Round 1, choose 24 people
- Round 2, pick 56
- Round 3, select 87
- Round 5, pick 174
- Round 6, pick 216
- Round 7, pick 233
- Round 7, pick 244
A trade from the Cowboys is always a possibility. Records the movements made here.
A cowboy needs:
OT: Tyron Smith is no longer the Cowboys' left tackle. That's something we haven't said in 10 years. With the All-Pro moving on and no replacement on the roster, the team needs a replacement unless they consider sliding Tyler Smith to the outside.
Child: Tyler Biadasz settled with Dan Quinn in Washington, leaving a hole in the middle of the line. Brock Hoffman is next in line, but I'm betting the Cowboys will bring competition.
RB: Rico Doodle will not remain as the top guy on the depth chart after Tony Pollard leaves. Corpses will be added here, but it is unclear how quickly they will attack.
lb: The Cowboys have retired Leighton Vander Esch due to illness. New DC Mike Zimmer prefers bigger, more traditional linebackers. They got Eric Kendricks, but they need more.
DT/DE: The defensive line is thin with the departures of Dorrance Armstrong, Dante Fowler, and Jonathan Hankins in free agency. Need more body.
CB/WR: These two very important positions require constant depth stirring.
