Starting this fall, students at Paris Junior College will have access to additional scholarship aid thanks to a $21,000 gift from a Paris real estate agent.
“More than 130 real estate agents participated in the decision to donate this gift to Paris Junior College,” said Shelley White, one of the Paris real estate agents involved in the donation. “Paris Real Estate Agents, past and present, are committed to community, and education is one of the best ways to build community. By establishing this endowment fund with PJC, we here at Paris Real Estate Agents are committed to: We can ensure continued support for those who wish to further their own education, thereby supporting the future prosperity of Paris.”
The new scholarships have no restrictions and will be available for the next academic year starting in the fall semester. The student must meet the college's grade point average (GPA) requirement of 2.5 and complete the Federal Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
“We would like to thank the Paris Realtors for donating more than $21,000 in scholarships to support PJC students,” said PJC Interim President Dr. Jerry King. “This gift will go to a general scholarship fund to help students with financial limitations pay their tuition and fees.”
