The “Buffalo…Who Knew?” podcast series aims to highlight Buffalo's assets (often undervalued and sometimes unearthed), especially those related to the built and natural environment. We reveal upcoming projects, review those already in progress, and discuss some of the barriers that may hinder progress.
This event will bring together two passionate Buffalo champions and their guests, Fritz Abel and Newell Nussbaumer, to once again highlight the exceptionalism that seeks to embed itself in the Buffalo spirit.
In this segment of “Buffalo…Who Knew?”, we discuss plans for the McKinney Allison House on Lincoln Parkway in Olmsted.

Boasting extraordinary craftsmanship, stained glass windows, and Italianate gardens, the McKinney Allison House, a Renaissance Revival building, is without exaggeration one of the most extraordinary in the country.
Built between 1926 and 1929 with oil money, the McKinney-Allison House is undergoing an extensive, multi-million dollar restoration by Clem (deceased) and Karen Allison. It's in progress. Plans for the mansion are to become a residential museum, one of his newest cultural assets for Buffalo.
Join Mr. Newell, Mr. Fritz, the Baird Foundation's Katherine Schweitzer, and owner Karen Allison to discuss this exciting opportunity for Buffalo.
Learn more about Karen Allison's passion project. Wisdom Farm’s mission is to foster and create environments and experiences that promote healing and a return to health for animals and individuals.
