The Dallas Mavericks fought back to tie the series against the Los Angeles Clippers with a gutsy defensive performance and won 96-93.
After that win, Josh Bowe and I went live on YouTube to try and process and understand a really competitive defensive battle. This game was a little hard to talk about because it was a back-and-forth battle, but a lot of the things that happened on defense will require us to take another look at what Dallas did that was very effective. The Clippers also missed a ton of threes, which helped matters, but the Mavericks had a great defensive game plan.

There remains a lot of improvement on offense, at least compared to Luka Doncic's shooting decisions at various intervals in this game, an area where the Mavericks did very well during the regular season. It's hard to imagine that he will continue to struggle. Josh often talks about things he hasn't tried yet.
That said, late big shots from P.J. Washington and Maxi Kleber were crucial to what the Mavericks need to do to get past the Clippers in the playoffs. I was so tired during this podcast that it wasn't my best job. Head over to YouTube to listen to our second live show, Mavs Party.
