Mavericks are in great shape with 6 straight wins
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 116-93 at home Wednesday night. Josh and I hit it off right away during the last game before the NBA All-Star break.
We'll start with a quick overview of the game, but will mainly focus on how the Mavericks recovered from a slow start and put the Spurs on the back foot. Kyrie Irving led the offense while Luka Doncic took some time to heat up. I really enjoyed the third quarter overall and saw some great defense from P.J. Washington and other Dallas players. In the end, the game ended in just over two hours with few turnovers or fouls.
Following our discussion of the game, we had a lengthy discussion about Luka Doncic in the context of MVP and how the national media continues to discuss him this season. Josh goes on at length about why he thinks most of the national media coverage about Doncic is noise. I'll explain my problem with that.

It ends with a long story about how difficult it is to move up in the Western Conference. Things weren't as good recently as when Dallas lost 26-23 to the Milwaukee Bucks. They then rattled off a six-game winning streak, including the tread deadline, when the team blossomed into talent. This was a fun podcast. Josh and I talked for a long time about some things.
