The Dallas Mavericks lost Game 4 against the Los Angeles Clippers, 116-111. The Clippers shot an incredible 18-of-29 from the field, rising to Dallas early in the first quarter and sinking eight of their three.
After the game, Josh and I got together to talk about the game. After summarizing what happened in the game (at least from what I saw), I'll break down the first quarter of a sloppy offense that was truly painful considering how good the Clippers were at shooting threes. Kyrie Irving was active in the second and third quarters and Dallas got back into the game.

A crazy offensive performance from Irving led the Mavericks to fight back down the stretch and take a 105-104 lead with two minutes left. However, behind Irving's offense was Dallas' inefficient defensive performance. James Harden really hurt Dallas during the game.
We'll try to make some sense of Dallas' lack of defensive coordination in the final frame, and discuss the elements of Dallas' game plan that are working and those that aren't. Maybe next game, Derek Lively will get more RBIs and Daniel Gafford will get fewer RBIs. The Mavericks really need Dante Exum to hit his shots to stay on the floor. It hurts to lose a game in which Dallas struggled to take the lead until the end after falling behind by 31 points. Next, maybe.
