Dallas wins on the road after making shocking trade
The Dallas Mavericks defeated the New York Knicks on the road Thursday night, 122-108. Luka Doncic starred, scoring 39 points and dishing out 11 assists. Josh Bowe and I will of course talk about this game, but we'll also talk more about the Dallas Mavericks' moves at the trade deadline.
In the first section of the show, we'll touch on what we liked about Dallas' big road win. This is Dallas' third straight road win, with the last one coming in December 2019. There were some interesting elements to this game, including a recurring pick-and-roll combo between Luka and Kyrie Irving. But we know that people really wanted to know our reaction to the deal.

Josh and I talked about what we were doing when the trade happened (hint, it's our real job) and how we handled what was happening. Share how you got started. The Daniel Gafford trade happened first, but it was unclear for a really long time, mainly because Dallas had to find a way to get the draft capital it needed. Josh explains why he liked this move and what he thinks Gafford will bring to Dallas.
Next, let's talk about the PJ Washington trade. This one is a little more complicated (though not as much). Josh has long been interested in Washington, so he has a lot to say about why Washington brings players to Dallas and what the Mavericks have to do to get the most out of their new players. I had an idea.
Lastly, I'm a bit of a whiner about draft capital, but I learned on the show that Dallas lost 2 seconds by trading Washington. It ends on a good note and we move on to the second live show. Thank you for your attention!
