Final ranking: 1
Victor Wenbanyama has somehow gotten even better after setting multiple records in the last month.
Wenbanyama entered his rookie season and lived up to all expectations. Spurs may not be winning games, but it's not Wenbanyama's fault. The rookie averaged a double-double, averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, Wenbanyama leads the NBA in blocks.
Although he struggled in the first few weeks of his rookie season, he has silenced the haters and dominated ever since. This victory also includes a triple-double last week against the Toronto Raptors.
In the win over the Raptors, Wenbanyama not only recorded a triple-double. He rejected 10 shots and added 27 points in the winning effort. Without Wenbanyama, Spurs might not have won a single game this season.
After recording a triple-double against the Raptors, the Spurs traveled to Dallas to face their in-state rival. Throughout the first quarter, Spurs took an early lead, and Wembaneyama was a big reason why. However, after a strong first quarter, the Spurs fell apart and ended up losing 116-93.
Despite the worrying loss, Spurs fans need not worry. They are set to get a great draft pick in the upcoming draft, and have already landed a solid star in Wembane Yama. The future is bright for San Antonio.
The Spurs' first game after the All-Star break will be against the Sacramento Kings. Stay tuned for more rookie rankings and the latest information on the Dallas Mavericks.
