positive
- These close games are perfect for March and build resilience. You always prefer to learn lessons during the season rather than after.
- We were 12-for-23 on three-point shooting tonight.
- I liked the effort on the glass, outscoring Iowa State 36-31.
- Great defense in key moments, the Bears limited ISU to 22 field goals and their zone was effective in the first half.
- The Bears, who trailed 61-54 after giving up a double-digit lead, showed mental strength in the final stages.
- Jalen Bridges had a very efficient game (169 offensive rating) and had three steals.
- I loved watching Ray J. Dennis and Jayden Nunn make open threes at a high rate.
- The number of spectators was amazing. Foster Pavilion has home court advantage.
need improvement
- Iowa State fouls on every play and they know the referees won't call every type of team. The Bears have to be tougher on the ball and shouldn't have 20 turnovers at this point in the season. Too many unforced errors.
- Jeb Hartness should never play Baylor again. He really lost control, which is really pathetic. He made TJ Otslevelger whine during the game and then threw three technicals on our bench. I highly doubt Scott and John did anything to warrant that.
- Free throws…I missed the free throws and almost lost the game. We have to be better.
- Aware of this, Iowa State slowed down late in the game and threw its body at defenders. He settled for too many jump shots late in the game. If the foul count dramatically favors the visitors, they need to understand that the referees are also human and will even it out, but they need to force it.
