The Rangers are too strong for the Capitals.
This is another step in a long journey to the playoffs for the Blueshirts.
They did their job at MSG, winning their first two games.
Now, they head to DC looking to end the sweep with two more wins.
Even in the worst case scenario, they would like to win at least one game in Game 5 and finish the series at home.
Reacting to the first two wins and looking ahead to Games 3 and 4, we bring you a new episode of the Up in the Blue Seats podcast with Brian Boyle, Molly Walker and Larry Brooks.
Up in the Blue Sheets Podcast with Brian Boyle, Molly Walker, and Larry Brooks
- Rangers lead 2-0: Playoff atmosphere at MSG on Tuesday night. Sunday was a little quieter, but afternoon games tended to have a less frenetic atmosphere.
- Games 1 and 2: The Capitals looked much better in Game 2 and Game 1, but couldn't do anything for most of the game.
- Lempe effect: He scored the first goal of the playoffs. He is a contributing factor. Who would have expected that? That excited the crowd in the first game.
- Penalty kill: The Rangers' penalty kill has been great all season, keeping them in the playoffs.
- East playoffs: There shouldn't be a need for a Hurricane in the second round for the Rangers. East needs to go 1-8 instead of the current format.
