Nationwide — Raya Salter, environmental lawyer and prominent advocate climate ladyofficially launched her groundbreaking podcast. Tea with the climate lady. This podcast educates and empowers Black youth and their families about important issues surrounding the climate crisis and environmental injustice that impact communities of color.In each episode of Tea with the climate lady, Salter explores a wide range of important topics, including the effects of climate-related disasters, advocating for vulnerable communities, global renewable energy development, and combating air pollution. Mr. Salter provides listeners with a behind-the-scenes look at environmental justice through insightful commentary and interviews with experts in a variety of fields related to addressing climate change and sustainability.

For the past two decades, Salter has been on the front lines of the fight for climate and environmental justice, tirelessly advocating for Black and brown communities around the world. Her efforts regularly appear in print and television/multimedia (CBS, NBC, HuffPost, new york daily newsand the san francisco chronicleas a subject matter expert.
He is also a published author, speaker, and professor who has testified before Congress multiple times on the subject of massive misinformation about environmental justice and oil. In 2022, Salter's testimony about Big Oil went viral after he defended himself against a Republican lawmaker who went on an offensive rant. From protests to policy, Salter continues to protect underserved communities from the impacts of the climate crisis and energy policies that disproportionately impact them.
A clean energy policy expert and environmental justice advocate, Salter is one of the leading Black voices in the fight against climate change. She has been recognized nationally and internationally for her expertise and her efforts as a climate and environmental justice advocate.
Salter does important advocacy work through his organization, the Energy Justice Law and Policy Center, and a local community coalition known as the Energy Justice Alliance. She is also a member of the New York Climate Council and sits at the national policy table of the Movement for Black Lives Network.
Her focus is on communities on the front lines of the climate crisis, especially Black and brown communities facing the most dire impacts. This includes communities in the United States and the Global South that are disproportionately affected by the disasters and devastation caused by climate change.
“This is why climate reparations is such an important issue and why it is tied to the urgent need for reparations for Black Americans,” she said. “Climate change is not a distant threat. It is a present danger. We must act now, not only for ourselves but for future generations.”
