The Royal Gorge Association of Realtors once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting education and empowering area youth by awarding scholarships to five eligible seniors from the Class of 2024. This year, the association offered her $5,000 scholarship, and each recipient received a scholarship. $1,000 to further their studies.
Among the award recipients are three outstanding seniors from Cañon City High School: Alyssa Richardson, Aidin Tye, and Jaycee Judgens VanVleet. These students demonstrate exceptional dedication to their academic and extracurricular endeavors and serve as shining examples of their talent and potential within their local communities. Additionally, one scholarship was awarded to her senior, Wyatt Williams, of Florence High School. His academic performance and leadership qualities have positively influenced both his colleagues and teachers. In addition, the Royal Gorge Association of Realtors recognized Cotopaxi High School student Abigail Feese's academic excellence by awarding her a scholarship to support her future endeavors.

Alyssa Richardson was a standout athlete throughout her high school days, excelling in volleyball, basketball, and soccer, demonstrating athleticism and dedication on the field and court. In addition to her athletic achievements, Allie's commitment to academic excellence is evidenced by her membership in the National Honor Society. She is also actively involved in student leadership as a member of Student Council and Link Her Crew, demonstrating her passion for making a positive impact on the school community. Allie's dreams for her future include attending Colorado Mesa University, where she plans to earn a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in education, which is a great way to inspire young minds. reflects her dedication to shaping the education sector and making a difference in the field of education.
Aidyn Thye is a multifaceted senior who has made significant contributions to both the arts and academics during her time in high school. As a member of Encore His Show Choir, Tiger His Ladies His Show Choir, and madrigal performer, Aidin showcased his talent and passion for music and captivated audiences with his performances. In addition to her artistic endeavors, Aidyn excels academically and is recognized as a member of the National Honor Society, consistently maintaining Gold Honorary status. She wants to further her acting and performance education so that she can spend her life doing what she loves. Aydin's diverse accomplishments and her commitment to excellence exemplify her drive for success and promise for a bright future.
Jaycee Hudgens VanVleet is an avid student known for participating in a variety of extracurricular activities. A member of her marching band and vice president of her tiger book club, she shows her passion for both music and literature. Even though she has to juggle two jobs, Jaycee shows an excellent commitment to her studies and maintains her excellent grades. Additionally, her volunteer work with Project Angel Heart highlights her caring personality. She plans to continue her education at the University of Colorado Boulder, where she plans to major in political science, potentially paving the way for a career in public service or advocacy.
Wyatt Williams is a passionate rodeo enthusiast who has been into rodeo since he was five years old. His dedication is evident through his involvement in various roping and rodeo associations, including the United States Team Roping Championship. He has been an integral part of both his middle school rodeo team and the Young Guns rodeo, and has shown his talent and dedication from a young age. As a member of the Colorado High School Rodeo Association, Wyatt continues to excel in the sport. After high school, he plans to pursue a college education with plans to pursue a degree in agricultural business, combining his studies with his love for the rodeo industry.
Abigail Fies is a well-rounded student who has been actively involved in a variety of extracurricular activities throughout high school. She has shown her dedication to athletics, having played basketball her three years and volleyball her four years. Abigail was on her student council for three years and on the yearbook committee for four years, demonstrating her leadership skills and commitment to school activities. Her academic excellence is also evidenced by her three-year membership in the National Honor Society. Additionally, her four-year participation in the Christian Student Fellowship highlights her community involvement and commitment to her faith. Abigail's accomplishments were recognized outside of school as well, as she was named Cotopaxi Lions Club Student of the Month. After her high school graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a radiologic technologist, combining her academic interests with her desire to help others in the medical field.
