WASHINGTON (February 9, 2024) – On the fifth anniversary of the Green New Deal, Sen. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.) announced the launch of a new podcast, “The Ed Markey Podcast.” Every Friday leading up to Earth Day in April, “Ed His Marquee Podcast” will feature new episodes from a variety of climate change advocates, from legislators to youth organizers to environmental justice activists. The Ed Markey Podcast explores how the Green New Deal movement will meet America's national climate challenge by creating new union jobs, delivering long-awaited justice, and reducing dangerous pollution. We will focus on how the company has transformed. In this podcast, we discuss the major Green His New Deal victories over the past five years, as well as highlight the strong leaders of the Green His New Deal movement in Congress and across the country working to fight climate change.
The first episode with Congressman Jamal Bowman (NY-16) kicked off today with a conversation about the Green New Deal for public schools.
“I love hosting the podcast, and I love the Green New Deal.” said Senator Markey.
On Tuesday, Sen. Markey and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (New York's 14th District) announced a new report detailing what the Green New Deal would mean for good-paying, clean jobs, environmental justice, and the climate. “Five Years of a Green New Deal.'' Take action and provide a path forward for years to come.
